Team Ontario Tryouts for 2023 North American Indigenous Games

Central Region Tryout Information

Indigenous Sport & Wellness Ontario (ISWO) is excited to announce we are bringing Team Ontario tryouts to the Central region in Sault Ste. Marie next weekend, March 31-April 1! This will be the final tryout before Team Ontario selections begin. Please help us spread the word to reach as many of our Indigenous athletes and parents as possible.

To be eligible for Team Ontario, athletes must be First Nations, Metis, or Inuit currently residing in Ontario. Athletes will compete in the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) this July 2023. For more information on these tryouts or to register, please see here: https://iswo.ca/event/team-ontario-ssm-tryout/.

The North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) are a multi-sport, multi-disciplinary event for Indigenous youth, between the ages of 13 and 19, from across North America (Turtle Island). The Games will bring together 756 Indigenous Nations, and approximately 5,000 athletes, to celebrate, share and reconnect through sport and culture in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Dartmouth and Millbrook First Nation. The Games will offer contemporary sports competitions, three of which are traditional Indigenous sports, including box lacrosse, 3D archery and canoe/kayaking.
