SUPPORT TORONTO DISTRICT BADMINTON'S PROJECT

FOCUS ON BADMINTON – VOTE!!!
To the Badminton Community,

Request to support Toronto District Badminton Association’s project to Play On Toronto. The following is information about the proposed project and instructions on the process of voting online for the project. Your support is much appreciated by TDBA and Varsity Blues badminton team which will be delivering the programme if the funding is approved.

The Toronto District Badminton Association’s video and application for funding of the Focus on Badminton program attached has been approved for posting and is currently viewable on the Game On Toronto website (www.gameontoronto.ca).

The video itself is available for viewing on You Tube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGBiaaTiVPY

The mandate of Game On Toronto is to provide $500,000 in funding to support Game On Toronto sports development projects before, during and after the 2015 Pan American & Para Pan American Games.

Voting begins Wednesday October 22nd and ends November the 5th at midnight spanning a period of two weeks!!

The amount of funding applied for by Toronto District Association is just under $26,000 for use over the next two years making the Focus on Badminton clinics very affordable at a nominal cost.

The goal of the program is to develop a badminton “addiction” in amateur athletes at the high school level from engagement in badminton to promote a long term healthy and active physical lifestyle and mental well being. This “addiction” will also have a positive contagion effect on our programs for younger as well as older athletes.

To support the goal of this program with your vote:

1. Go to http://www.gameontoronto.ca/entry/20645201-Focus-on-Badminton?offset=0&sort=upload%20DESC&q=Focus%20on%20Badminton&channel=26645
2. Click the Vote button just to the right of the upper right hand corner of the video
3. Register or login to vote. Register by creating an account or logging in with Facebook.
4. Vote a maximum of once per day during the two week voting period.
Please support the goal of engaging students in badminton, the consequent strengthening of engagement of students in education through school badminton teams and engagement of athletes in badminton outside of school by passing this email on to friends, family and contacts who work or live in the Toronto area. If you have the ability to forward this email to members of a badminton club, an organization you are part of or any form of media, it would be greatly appreciated to support this goal.

At the end of the voting process a panel of judges will determine the projects which will be funded – the voting process is the first and major step to approval.

Thanks for voting every day and for also sending the information on to as many badminton enthusiasts as possible.
