NOTIFICATION RE:
Postponement of Badminton Ontario’s 2020-2021 Season November Events
To all District Member Associations:
We are writing as a follow-up to the previous notices published surrounding Badminton Ontario’s decision for a delayed start to the 2020-2021 Competition Season. Further to that decision, the PSO still believes that it is in the best interest and safety of the athletes, officials, coaches, volunteers, staff, and sport to further delay the 2020-2021 competition season.
As a result, we would like to inform you that Badminton Ontario is currently not in the position to deliver tournaments and events in the month of November given the concerning landscape caused by COVID-19. We will be cancelling the events tentatively scheduled for November and will be attempting to work with the host facilities surrounding the possibility to reschedule certain events for a later date. Once again, we will continue to monitor the situation and address the ability to deliver tournament events on a month by month basis
Please note that the Badminton Ontario Athlete Card along with the Coach and Official Accreditation renewal process for the 2020-2021 Season has been put on temporary hold with the decision of a delayed season start. Badminton Ontario has been working on several waivers, agreements, and forms that will be introduced to the badminton community when the renewal process resumes in the near future. These documents along with the Return to Play Plan is posted on the website at: http://badmintonontario.ca/covid19-resources/
Updates and notices will be communicated frequently as well as posted on the website.
