ONTARIO ATHLETES READY TO COMPETE FOR GOLD AT THE U23 AND JUNIOR CANADIAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

From May 15th to the 20th Canada’s best badminton players will compete for a place on the podium at the U23 and Junior Canadian National Championships. This year’s edition of the national championships will be held in Moncton, New Brunswick at the University of Moncton.
Ontario will be represented by a strong contingent of 81 junior athletes and thirteen Under 23 senior players, including the following notable defending champions from Ontario;
Brian Yang (Defending his U19 Boys Singes and Mixed Doubles Championship)
Katie Ho-Shue (Defending her U19 Girls and Mixed Doubles Championship)
Kyle To (Defending his U17 Mixed Doubles Championship)
Sharon Au (Defending her U15 Triple Crown Title)
Ontario players to keep and eye out for in Moncton include:
Talia Ng (16.17 U19 Double Crown Ontario Champion),
Jeslyn Chow (16.17 U15 Girls Singles Ontario Champion).
Ivan Li (16.17 U15 Double Crown Ontario Champion)
Brian Yang a gold medal hopeful and a favorite to retain his championships from last year spoke to us about his expectations for the tournament, “My goal at National Championships is winning U19 boys doubles and U19 mixed doubles. I am playing U23 for singles. It is a big challenge for me and I am looking forward to my best performance at the tournament.”
