Canada as the host country are favorites to earn gold medals in many different age categories and disciplines. Badminton Ontario’s director of high performance gave her thoughts on the Ontario athletes who were chosen for the team.

“We are proud of Ontario’s important role in the make-up of this Canadian team – these athletes are the future Olympic and World Championship stars for Canada and it is very pleasing to see so many athletes from Ontario leading the way for Canada. As well, it is important to note the role of Ontario in hosting these Championships and other international competitions in the near future – these initiatives are so valuable for the profile of the sport and for the development of a strong volunteer and management infrastructure for our sport”

This tournament is a large stepping stone for some of these Ontario athletes, as a few of them will make up part of the Canadian team that will compete at the 2018 World Junior Championships in Markham.

The fun all starts on July 21st, tickets are now available for purchase online. In addition, children under ten are granted free admission (with proof of age) with a ticketed parent or guardian. So, come down and cheer on Team Canada as they work hard to earn Pan Am glory. Please visit the link below for more information on ticketing.
