Badminton Ontario Provincial Officials License

The Badminton Ontario Provincial Officials License identifies umpires and referees that have achieved the minimum requirements to officiate at BON provincial and/or BCAN national level events.

Eligibility

To be eligible for approval to purchase a BON Provincial Officials License, officials must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a BON member in good standing for the season
  2. Be a provincial, national, or international certified umpire or referee; or an identified provincial umpire-in-training

In order to be eligible to officiate at Badminton Ontario tournaments during the season, officials must have a valid 2023-2024 Provincial Officials License.

How to obtain a BON Provincial Officials License

Step 1 – Review the eligibility criteria and ensure you have met the stated requirements. 

Step 2 – Purchase your BON General Membership ($15) for the 2023-2024 season.

Identification Badges
Officials’ identification badges will be issued as validation of the Provincial Officials License and will be distributed to umpires and referees by Badminton Ontario staff by mail or in person at tournaments.

How to obtain a Badminton Canada National Technical Officials License

In order to be eligible to officiate at a Badminton Canada national event (e.g. YONEX Junior & Senior Elite or National Championships), all officials must ensure they have registered for the National Technical Officials License.
