Mandarin Coach: Chen Kang (陳康)

August 16, 2021

We are extremely pleased and honoured to announce that Coach Chen Kang (陳康) will be joining Mandarin Badminton full-time in October 2021.

Coach Chen was former China National Team player; Asian Games Men’s Doubles Gold medalist; World Championship Men’s Doubles Silver medalist; represented China at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He joined the Hong Kong National Team in 2012 as lead coach in Doubles and led the Hong Kong team in 3 Olympics – London, Rio and Tokyo.

In the recent Tokyo Olympics, Coach Chen led Hong Kong’s mixed doubles pair Tse Ying-suet (謝影雪) and Tang Chun-man (鄧俊文) into semi-finals. It will be a blessing that we will have such caliber of coaching skills & experience to train our players.

Coach Chen will become Director of Player Developments when he arrives at Mandarin. His primary focus will be to teach and train our players and bring them to the higher level of excellence.

Our Senior Coach Mario Santoso will continue to be in charge of overall coaching and management of badminton operations.

Please join us to welcome Coach Chen to Mandarin coaching team.
