Head Coach & Team Manager for GBDBA at the 2023 OWG

ONTARIO WINTER GAMES 2023 – HEAD COACH

GBDBA is seeking a head coach for the GBDBA 2023 team that will participate in the Ontario Winter Games in Petawawa, Ontario from February 9-12, 2023.

Criteria for HEAD COACH
• Must have a minimum NCCP Level II certification as a badminton coach
• Should have experience with team events and with selection processes
• Must demonstrate proof of police check

Responsibilities of HEAD COACH
• Contact all athletes after selection process to confirm the final selection
• Arrange team practice and practice matches
• Select playing combinations for all competitive events for which GBDBA is funding the team
• Oversee all aspects of the coaching portion of the OWG team program
• Act as head coach at the Ontario Winter Games and any other such team events entered
• Communicate with parents of Team Members as needed
• Provide a report to GBDBA Board of Directors on the Team’s performance with suggestions for future games

Honorarium for HEAD COACH
• A suitable honorarium shall be paid for fulfillment of duties at the end of the Ontario Winter Games 2023

Application Deadline for HEAD COACH
• Qualified coaches who are interested in the position shall provide a letter of intent outlining qualifications and suitability for the position to GBDBA Junior Coordinator, Adrian Cheung, at amhcheun@gmail.com by December 2nd, 2022. The successful candidate will be notified by December 15th, 2022


ONTARIO WINTER GAMES 2023 – TEAM MANAGER

GBDBA is seeking a Team Manager for the GBDBA 2023 team that will participate in the Ontario
Winter Games in Petawawa, Ontario from February 9-12, 2023.

Criteria for TEAM MANAGER
• Must be the opposite gender of the coach
• Act as liaison between OWG Team and GBDBA Board of Directors
• Act as liaison with the OWG Badminton Administrator/BON during the OWG for the GBDBA Team
• Must demonstrate proof of police check

Responsibilities of TEAM MANAGER
• Select venue for Team Selection and Training sessions
• Source supplier for Team uniforms, place the order, and distribute uniforms to Team Members, the Head Coach, and the Team Manager
• Track the quality of shuttles used for Selection and Training sessions
• Maintain records of individual players on GBDBA Team in terms of practice attendance, tournament reports, Team registration and all other player files
• Arrange transport to and from the OWG
• Maintain records of all GBDBA Team expenses within budget and submitting same to GBDBA Board of Directors
• Submit all GBDBA Team entry forms to selected events and all paperwork for the OWG
• Be responsible for all off-court activities for GBDBA Team including team accommodations at tournament
• Complete and submit a final report for the GBDBA Team to the GBDBA Board of Directors
