Head Coach Opportunity – Seneca College

HEAD COACH POSITION - SENECA COLLEGE

The Seneca College is seeking a Head Coach for the Seneca Badminton team. The Head Coach is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the technical, tactical and physical curriculum which prepares student-athletes for successful competition within the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA). This is a part-time position that requires weekday day time and evening hours, as well as weekends.

Criteria:

♦ The Head Coach must be of good character and have demonstrated a high caliber of leadership, sportsmanship and coaching performance
♦ Have strong relationships with club coaches for the purpose of recruitment
♦ Have a minimum of five years of coaching experience with 16 to 25 years old
♦ Hold, or be working towards, Badminton Canada Competition Development NCCP certification.
♦ Have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, sound administrative skills, strong motivational abilities and a commitment to fair play
♦ Must be eligible to work in Canada


Responsibilities:
♦ Develop the overall athletic plans (long range scheduling to daily practice plans) to maximize player and team development
♦ Prepare technical and tactical strategies for student-athletes to be successful at the OCAA and CCAA level
♦ Identification and recruitment of quality student-athletes
♦ Must support and mentor the values of excellence in academics and athletics, character development and leadership
♦ Maintain effective communications and administrative systems amongst coaches, players, athletic and facility staff
