Fast Four: Badminton Ontario keeps members in the know about the latest news in our sport
January 29th, 2016 / Badminton Ontario
Badminton Ontario would like to take this opportunity to update athletes, coaches, and officials on the latest news on the sport of badminton within our province.
Q4G (Quest for Gold): The draft list of Quest 4 Gold nominees has been posted on our website for your convenience, along with a document that includes the rationale for selection. The final list of nominated Ontario card athletes will be announced by February 24th, 2016.
2016 Ontario Summer Games: To date, Badminton has typically taken place during the Ontario Winter Games, however, due to a change in Ontario Games management, the sport of Badminton has been shifted to the Ontario Summer Games for 2016.
Team rosters for each district must be submitted to the PSO by end of March 2016. Athletes are being asked to contact their respective Districts for more information about their regional team. Any and all pertinent information can be found here.
Banner Points: The annual Club Competitions Banner Award will be presented again this year to the organization whose athletes have achieved podium results in the applicable events. Clubs have until the last scheduled “points event” to gain required points; this year’s final scheduled event is the Jr (B) Championships on May 13th – 15th, 2016.
Results to date will be calculated next week, and Badminton Ontario will aim to have those results posted on our info page shortly after. More details on Banner Points are easily accessible via this link.
Up Next: Our next event is the 15.16 Black Knight Jr A HP #6 KCBC All Ages tournament, which is scheduled for February 6th & 7th, 2016! We look forward to seeing many of you there!
