Thunder Bay Open Badminton Tournament

WHERE: Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd at Superior CVI and and La Verendrye The Saturday venues may include a third school, St Patrick’s High School, this will be confirmed by email on the Wednesday before the tournament.
COST: $35 per player to enter up to 3 events. Student entry fees for secondary school students is $20 for 3 events. Payment is due prior to play E-Transfer is the method of payment except for school teams.
Cheques must be payable to NWOBA

Singles: Friday, March 22nd: High School 1:00-6:00PM
Open -Adults 5:00-10:00PM (registration 5PM)
- Men’s/boy’s singles location: Superior CVI- 333 N High St, Thunder Bay
- Women’s/girl’s singles location: Ecole Secondaire La Vérendrye,175 N High St, Thunder Bay
Doubles: Saturday, March 23rd 8:00AM-5:00PM
- Men’s/boy’s doubles location: Superior CVI
- Women’s/girl’s doubles location: Ecole Secondaire La Vérendrye or an alternate site
Mixed: Saturday, March 23rd– 2:00-5:00PM Double Elimination Format Location: Superior
- Prize draw will occur during mixed event
- Other Important Information: You must be present at the start time on each day in order to be eligible to play. End times are approximate and actual time will vary depending on games.
- Online Entry Form: For doubles/mixed, both players must enter separately by using this form. Please fill out all sections and submit. Forward this invitation to friends and playing partners. We hope that you enter all three events: singles, doubles & mixed.

ENTRIES: Entries must be submitted Monday, March 18th. The primary method of entry is by using the Google Form which we are emailing to you. If you do not have a partner for an event and would like one please write P.R. (partner required) in the space and we will try to find one for you.

For team entries from schools or clubs; please rank your players on the entry form per event ie 1st, 2nd … and send in entries by school / club. WE would be grateful if you could enter your team on the google form. That allows you to edit if there are changes. Use the coach’s email only please, no student emails or phone numbers.
Eyewear: Eye protection (goggles) for all events are mandatory for players under 19 years of age (OBA rule).
Awards for First, Second and Third in “A” and “B” flights. Prizes to be drawn on Saturday at Superior C.V.I.
