BWF COACHING CONFERENCE 2018 World Junior Badminton Championships Coaching Conference Registration open
The local organizing committee (LOC) of the 2018 Li-Ning BWF World Junior Badminton Championships (WJC2018) is pleased to announce registration for the BWF Coaching Conference is now open. The coaching conference will take place between Nov 14-18, 2018, during the second week of the Championships. Various streams will be available for participants to register for, and range in a variety of topics.
The programs available for registration include:
● Women in Coaching Mentorship Evening (By Invitation), Nov 14
● Player Clinic Coach Observation, Nov 14/15
● Coach Developer Training Nov 15
● International Badminton Coaches Conference, Nov 16/17
● NCCP Shuttle Time, Nov 18
● NCCP Regional Coach Technical/Tactical Module 3, Nov 18
● NCCP Provincial Coach Technical/Tactical Module 5, Nov 18
● NCCP Competition Development, Nov 18
The keynote speaker for the conference is Dr. Wade Gilbert. Gilbert is currently a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Fresno State University. Gilbert has helped write nearly 100 publications in relation to coaching and sport science. Kenneth Larsen, a professor of sport science and the former coach of the Danish National Team is also scheduled to speak.
Other speakers scheduled to deliver sessions during the conference include: Tracey Hallam, a multiple gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games, Lorraine Lafrenière, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Coaches Association of Canada, and Rikke Olsen, a former Danish Olympian in badminton; among others.

About the 2018 World Junior Badminton Championships:
The Li-Ning BWF 2018 World Junior Championships are taking place in Markham, Ontario, Canada from November 5-18, 2018. The City of Markham, along with its partners Badminton Canada and Badminton Ontario, are excited to be welcoming 600 athletes from over 50 countries. Competition will occur at the Markham Pan Am Centre, which has been host to many international events since its opening in 2014. This will be the third time that Canada has hosted a World Badminton Championships (junior/senior).
